Cassie has focussed her career on working with children, adolescents, their parents and their other key support people in the community and school settings in Australia and Europe for over 10 years. Cassie is passionate about creating space for children to feel safe and heard and then supporting them and their families to develop social and emotional regulation skills together so that they can communicate effectively with one another, have confidence in their ability to face challenges and find joy in the simple, everyday moments of life. She has worked for the past 12 years in both all girl’s education and government co-education teaching the wellbeing and health curriculum. She has also worked in the student services sector prior to completing her teaching degree and worked extensively to coordinate a Mentorship program for at-risk teens both in a group and 1:1 setting. As well as teaching in Western Australia, Amber has worked internationally with teenagers in schools and community mentorship programs in places like South Africa and India. Amber has Youth Mental Health First Aid training, extra training in child protection and neurodivergence in Teens. Amber is passionate about supporting young people in their mental health and with her warm and kind nature she ensures they feel seen, heard and respected (all our tweens/teens desire!). She has a playful, yet gentle manner when working with young people and we are so lucky to have her join our team of psychologists! Like all of us on the Cocoon team, Amber is blessed with two beautiful small humans, who keep her laughing, joyful but utterly exhausted at times too! Annmarie is a strong believer of the term ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ and enjoys working with adults in a young persons life to help support them so that they can support our young! She is passionate about the importance of evidence-based, engaging parent education to help parents develop the skills of emotional regulation themselves, so that they can understand the importance of co-regulation to teach a young person how to regulate and ride the wave of big emotions! She believes that population level interventions are key for creating change in the growing numbers of concerning youth mental health and enjoys working with schools to help enact these initiatives and programs.
